1. Select GNSS Functions from the Instrument menu.
2. Select Base Mode. Provided the correct receivers are listed in the base and rover options in the Bluetooth setting screen, you will automatically connect to your nominated base receiver.
3. Once the receiver has connected to your controller, select ‘Escape’ at the bottom of the screen.
4. Select Main Menu > Measure > RTK (or whatever you have named your Survey Style) > Start Base Receiver.
(a1) Starting Base Station On A Known Point
1. Firstly, measure the height of the base receiver from the ground to the nominated measurement point. In this example we have measured to "Lever of R12i extension".
2. Enter the Point Name of your known point (note: this must previously exist in the job, either having been keyed in or imported/linked), enter the measured height, and ensure that the ‘Measured to’ field is set to the nominated measurement point. Once this information has been entered, select ‘Start’ at the bottom of the screen.
3. Select ‘OK’ on the Base Started dialogue box. To start the survey, go to ‘(b) Starting Rover survey’.
(a2) Starting Base Station An An Unknown Point
1. Firstly, measure the height of the base receiver from the ground to the nominated measurement point. In this example we have measured to "Lever of R12i extension".
2. Enter an unknown point name, select the black arrow next to that field and select Key In.
3. Select the ‘Here’ key at the bottom of the screen to populate the coordinate fields with an autonomous GNSS position. Enter a Point Code as necessary.
4. Select Store to return to Start Base screen.
5. Enter the measured height, and ensure that the ‘Measured to’ field is set to the nominated measurement point.
6. Once this information has been entered, select ‘Start’ at the bottom of the screen.
7. Select ‘OK’ on the Base Started dialogue box. To start the survey, go to ‘(b) Starting Rover survey’.
(b) Starting Rover Survey
1. Select GNSS Functions from the Instrument menu.
2. Select Rover Mode.
3. Once the receiver has connected to your controller, select ‘Escape’ at the bottom of the screen.
4. If your base is setup and is transmitting select Main Menu > Measure / Stakeout > RTK and then the function you would like to perform. Example:
5. The software will then perform a search for all base stations transmitting on your chosen frequency. Your base station has had an Index Number assigned to it in the Survey Style. Select the relevant base (if more than one found)
6. Once a fixed position has been achieved, enter a point name, code and a pole height. For Rover measurement, 'Bottom of Quick Release' is usually the preferred ‘Measured to’ point. Select Measure to initiate measurement, select store once predetermined number of epochs has been measured.
