For some projects you may need to consistently connect to the same base through the lifetime of the project. This guide shows how to find the closest network base to your project.
- First you need to set up a new Survey Style on Trimble Access.
- Go to Main Menu > Settings > Survey Styles
- Press New.
- Give it a name. The Style type will be GNSS. Press Enter.
- Select Edit for Rover Options.
- Have the following settings selected:
- Press Accept.
- Select Edit on Rover Data Link.
- Uncheck the prompt for GNSS correction source box. GNSS internet source should be Controller internet. If it isn’t press the right arrow for GNSS internet source and select it.
- Press the right arrow for GNSS correction source.
- Now we have to Create a mountpoint selection.
- Highlight a current GNSS correction source that you are using and press Copy (this will copy the username/password).
- Make sure you place the following edits:
The port number is tied to the state that you are working in:
Port Location 2102 New South Wales 2103 Victoria / Tasmania 2107 Queensland 2108 Western Australia / Northern Territory / South Australia - Press Store.
- Press Accept.
- Press Accept.
- Press Store.
- Now you can start a survey with the newly created survey style and it will prompt you to select your mountpoint. You can sort by distance. Press Accept once you have found the desired mountpoint.
- The survey will start.
If you want to save that connection as a Survey Style with a site specific name that can be done also.
