Trimble Passkey
How to Create a Passkey
- Ensure you have the device you intend to use for data collection with you and switched on. A passkey is a digital credential tied to your device. Each device will need their own passkey created if you choose to use this multi-factor authentication (MFA) method.
- Log into Trimble Connect with the Trimble ID (TID) you intend to use for data collection on that device.
myprofile.trimble.com - Select Create a passkey.
- You will be asked to enter your Trimble ID password again. Click Sign in.
- Follow the prompts from your browser and device to setup the passkey. You may need to download a QR scanner app from the Google Play Store for Trimble TDC600 / TDC6 devices to successfully complete the passkey creation process.
- Enter a Passkey name and select Continue. A message displays saying your passkey has been created. Select Done.
- You will then be able to see the created passkey under Manage passkeys. You can edit the name of the passkey by clicking on the pencil icon. You can remove the passkey by clicking on the X icon.
- If you have another device you want to utilise with the same TID, follow the same steps to create a passkey for that device.
- Ensure the MFA toggle is set to Enabled and the Passkey is the Default method. Trimble allows for multiple MFA methods to be set up concurrently.
How to Sign in to a Trimble App with a Passkey
- Open the Trimble app on your device (e.g. TerraFlex, Mobile Manager, Trimble Access).
- Tap the Use a passkey box on the Trimble sign-in screen. When utilising a passkey, there is no requirement to manually enter an email address or password as the passkey is linked to a TID.
- You will be prompted to use the passkey associated with the displayed TID to sign into id.trimble.com. Tap Continue.
The existing device unlock method will now be shown (e.g. Pattern, PIN, Fingerprint or Face ID) and will need to be completed. - Once the unlock method has been successfully completed, the Trimble app will sign in. This may take a few moments.
